    Ski helmet is an import tool used to protect skiers’ heads from injury and keep their heads warm during skiing or monoskiing. Typically, a ski helmet is consist of a shell, a liner, padding, an adjuster, a retention system, buckles and goggle clips, some helmets for use in competitions are fitted with a chin guard.
 

    Shell: the shell of most ski helmets available in the market is made of PC or ABS (a type of engineering plastics).
 

    Liner: a key part of a helmet used to absorb energy of an impact. Liner is made of EPS, a kind of material similar to white foam used in packaging.
 

    Padding: used to increase comfort of the helmet. Major materials of padding are sponge with different kinds of cloth like brushed cloth and velveteen. Some brands offer hot-pressed padding that features more attractive appearance. Most helmets are fitted with removable padding that can be removed for cleaning to increase the service life of helmet.
 

    Adjuster: used to adjust the helmet size. Generally, class B helmets will be fitted with an adjuster while most class A helmets are not equipped with an adjuster. The size of a helmet with an adjuster can be reduced or increased more than 4cm.
 

    Retention system: used to attach the helmet to the head and prevent the helmet from falling during skiing. The retention system is typically made of fabric belts and sector buckles.
 

    Buckles: buckles usually come in red and back and are made by POM injection molding.   
 

    Goggle clips: used to secure ski goggles.
 

    Chin guard: players in some competitions like DH and SG wear Class A helmets that required a mental component used to protect skiers’chins.
